SoloSearch format

If you're generating a feed specifically for SoloSearch — for example, building an integration for a new platform — the simplest option is to use SoloSearch's own field names directly. There's nothing to map: the moment the feed is connected, every field is already recognised. This is the format our official platform modules generate.

Works the same whether your file is XML or CSV — see CSV for the column-based version. The example below shows XML.

Structural fields

Field Required What it is
id Yes Product identifier
title Yes Product name
link Yes Product URL
image Yes Main product image
price Yes Regular price
sku No SKU / product code
sale_price No Discounted price, if any
brand No Brand or manufacturer
description No Long description
categories No Category path
disable_add_to_cart No 1 or 0 — whether this specific product can't be added to cart with a single click (e.g. a configurable product that needs a variant picked first). See Add to Cart Button.

effective_price is not part of the feed — it's calculated automatically from price/sale_price when the feed is parsed. See Calculated fields.

Example

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<products>
  <product>
    <id>1042</id>
    <sku>RUN-SHOE-001</sku>
    <title>Running Shoes</title>
    <link>https://myshop.com/running-shoes</link>
    <image>https://myshop.com/images/shoes.jpg</image>
    <price>89.99</price>
    <sale_price>69.99</sale_price>
    <brand>Nike</brand>
    <description>Lightweight running shoes with a breathable mesh upper.</description>
    <categories>Footwear &gt; Running &gt; Road</categories>
    <disable_add_to_cart>0</disable_add_to_cart>
  </product>
</products>

Because every element name already matches a SoloSearch internal field, no mapping is needed in Configuration → Feeds → [your feed] → Fields — the default Feed name for each field already matches. Any extra data your platform tracks can still be sent as additional elements and mapped as custom fields, exactly as with any other format — see Adding custom fields.
